screen

In our cosy studio apartment in central Melbourne we experiment with sound and music for the small or big screens and for other visual arts mediums. We can provide post and pre production services from sound design and conceptualization to final mix guided by the unique nature of each project. Our emerging philosophy encourages exploration and experimentation with the many variables of the intricate relationship between sound and image. This can include:

-Sound recording on or off set, including boom mic operation.
-Implementation of special effects, foley, and voice recording.
-Music production using a selection of instruments, musicians and practices.
-Sound mix and editing for image.
-Project and production management and planning.

If you are a production house, independent filmmaker, or a creator of innovative interactive media and we really like your work we may certainly consider to cooperate with your crazy ideas so please contact us.

The Ballad of Des and Mo (2010) 72 Hour Movie MIFF 2010

[Post-production sound]

A group of Irish and British filmmakers teamed up with local filmmakers for this 3 day adventure. The project consists of shooting, editing and screening a feature length film of cinema quality in a 3-day period. The aim is to produce a movie that looks as good as – if not better – than most other movies that take longer and cost more to produce. The script was already written, the casting already done, the crew in place and the locations scouted.

The screening of the Ballad of Des and Mo at MIFF took place on the penultimate day of the festival – 7th August 2010. About 15 cast and crew made their way from Ireland and the UK to Melbourne in mid/late July to prepare for the shoot. The locations were limited only to where it is feasible to film within the 72 hours.

[Production manager and president of Barnash Productions Inc.]

After arriving in Melbourne and discovering that the city had never heard of the 48 hour film project Oren acted to obtain the local producer license from the U.S. headquarters to organise the project in Melbourne. In collaboration with Pia Niebel and Tommy Blum, Oren created an non for profit organization (Barnash Productions Inc.) to produce and manage the competition and festival in Melbourne. Supported by the likes of Film Victoria, City of Melbourne, SAE Institute, Federation Square, The Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Panavision, Open Channel, The Australian Writers, Directors and Producers Guilds, Monkeesee Studios and more the 48HFP Melbourne attracted over 500 Participants and thousands of festival goers.
